Roller Dome: Sapulpa, OK

Located in Sapulpa, just southwest of Tulsa, the Starlite Roller Rink was a "flagship" on the Mother Road, Route 66. Barry and Phyliss Simpson opened the skating rink in 1953, during a wave of roller skating frenzy, and operated it for 50 years. The building had a series of subsequent owners and uses, before a new owner reopened it in 2011 as the Roller Dome. Despite alterations to the building, the original sign survives as a beacon to its history.
